摘要: New World monkeys are less well known and frequently studied than Old apes, yet they have value as models for speech language. All primates arboreal living in dense forests. This has led to a reliance on vocal communication rather the visual signaling most common apes. As result evolved complex repertoires that may share more parallels with human other primates. Many of these species also live small family groups akin societies. I describe rationale studying language present some methods used research. then discuss several areas potential including complexity, categorical responses calls, signals refer external objects or events, syntax rudimentary grammar, developmental processes babbling, dialects, control. conclude brief discussion cognitive abilities which important cognition. Although not often been subjects research relating disorders, provide much understanding mechanisms functional aspects
