摘要: A considerable amount of research suggests that positive schizotypy (cognitive and perceptual aberrations, such as pseudo-hallucinations) is associated with creativity in the arts. In order to better understand how might be expressed creative process, experience sampling method was used explore experiential correlates a sample artists. Artists (N = 41) were sampled over week-long period, answering questions at random intervals related mood, cognition, state consciousness behaviour, resulting reports on 2495 experiences. The scored significantly higher than normative samples positive, but not negative, schizotypy, supporting previous role ‘healthy schizotypy’ creativity. Multi-level modelling demonstrated predicted particular profile daily life, characterised by more frequent flow state, altered experience, internal dialogue, vivid imagery, distractibility, introspection high self-esteem. Positive (but other dimensions schizotypy) also significant predictor art-making inspiration life. Random intercept slope models suggested greater increases affect self-esteem during or following art-making, an ‘affective hypothesis’ for relationship between artistic involvement. This study supports linking creativity, that, this context, can adaptive experiences, including inspiration, Further, may serve therapeutic function artists schizotypy.
