摘要: Abstract The coefficient of friction polymers, like that metals, is given by the equation μ = (σ/po) cot ψ, where σ yield stress and po hardness polymer ψ a parameter involving surface forces. Although material yields at interface slip, slip not caused shearing actual junctions. Friction shown to be quantitatively related adhesion, relationship between energy discussed.
