Stark mixing of high-lying calcium levels by laser-produced charges

摘要: Using a pulsed tunable dye laser pumped by nitrogen laser, the 4s4p 1P10 level in Ca I was selectively populated from 4s2 1S0 ground state. Transitions 4s4p1P10 to 4sns1S0 and 4snd1D2 and, for n approximately=20, also 4snp1P10 4snf1F30 were observed. The latter transitions arise because of Stark mixing Rydberg states field laser-produced ions electrons. By applying voltage electrodes calcium vapour, shifts measured levels belonging 4s(n+1)d1D2 series region where cross. Diagonalisation energy matrix interacting with hydrogenic dipole elements gave theoretical reasonable agreement those measured. has been extended n=12 n=28 absorption 4s3d1D2. found be stimulated emission 4s4p1P10.
