摘要: The popular press is supposed to display more sympathy for populist parties. This article investigates whether newspapers have a stronger tendency than serious share the anti-establishment position of It also tests assumption that parties and personalize politics. in Britain Netherlands are compared. focus on Dutch Party Freedom (PVV) newspaper Telegraaf, British National (BNP) Sun. analysis shows do not an anti-elite bias. Telegraaf Sun overall even oriented towards elitist perspectives quality press. personalization thesis confirmed either. results throw into doubt there single tabloid-quality spectrum based subject matter or political orientation: orientation should be conflated with differences style.
