摘要: Abstract A study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of engineered wetland systems (EWSs) in treatment domestic wastewater pre-treated an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor tropics. Relative advantages using different plants were also assessed. The EWS had three units river sand media. One bed left unplanted and used as a control while each remaining beds planted with either Typha latifolia (cattail) or Colocasia esculenta (cocoyam). able remove well phosphorus, sulphate, ammonia, COD. As such, when coupled reactor, is promising alternative traditional septic tank/soakaway widely treating wastewater. reaffirms accepted notion enhance performance systems. However, this study, no significant difference observed between two units.
