摘要: A brief survey was conducted in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, to determine the influence of selective logging operations on primate populations. Data were also collected some birds and squirrels. Selective that causes only moderate habitat disturbance does not seem result a significant decrease densities several species. Whereas species adjust readily moderately disturbed habitats, other may have difficulty maintaining breeding population logged areas. review literature plus our own data suggest rain forest squirrels be most disrupted by their habitats. While mammals are directly harmed logging, others endangered human encroachment often follows. Suggestions regarding enlightened tropical forestry practices, additional studies establishment preservation areas discussed.
