Metabolite profiling often employed during field investigations hydrocarbon-laden environments purpose(s) determining extent intrinsic enhanced natural attenuation contaminants, developing remediation strategies, and/or gaining better understanding microbial During last twenty-five years, elucidation anaerobic biodegradation pathways has not only provided metabolic and molecular biomarkers environmental assessments hydrocarbon metabolism, but also an avenue integrative studies.
