The physiologic roles of glutathione in the red cell and reductase are reviewed briefly. 2. partial purification by a combination salting out, heating chromatographic procedures is described. 3. Throughout purification, no appreciable change ratio activity enzyme with DPN TPN as coenzyme has been found. 4. Potassium chloride sodium increased markedly enzymatic when TPNH served hydrogen donor. However, DPNH was donor these salts caused decrease activity. phosphate buffer but produced little DPNH. 5. Michaelis-Menten constants were computed for purified preparations. 6. DPN-linked system did not result GSSG reduction lactate substrate intact erythrocytes.
