摘要: Abstract Since the 1960s, government of Benin has invested in development canal irrigation schemes order to intensify food crop production and reduce insecurity. This paper employed an ordered probit model with sample selection assess potential reducing insecurity municipality Malanville, Benin. The results show that 60% farmers 46% dry land were secure. Adoption a positive effect on security. Other variables explaining security are education, informal training, credit, extension services, use improved seed, fertilizer herbicide application, farm off-farm income. study recommends efforts rehabilitate current scheme develop other should be intensified.
