Atrial arrhythmias and lipomatous hypertrophy of the cardiac interatrial septum

摘要: Abstract Excessive accumulation of fat in the interatrial septum, termed lipomatous hypertrophy was found at postmortem examination ten elderly patients. All patients had atrial arrhythmias. Seven unusual arrhythmias including multifocal tachycardia, wandering pacemaker, paroxysmal and sinus arrest, all which proved refractory to therapy.
