摘要: We study the small scale anisotropy signal expected at Pierre Auger Observatory after 1, 5, 10, and 15 years of operation, from sources ultra-high energy (UHE) protons. numerically propagate UHE protons over cosmological distances using an injection spectrum normalization that fits current data up to ~1020 eV. characterize possible cosmic rays (UHECRs) by their mean density in local universe, , with r between 3 6. These densities span a wide range extragalactic sites for UHECR sources, common rare galaxies or even clusters galaxies. simulate 100 realizations each model calculate two point correlation function events energies above 4 × 1019 eV 1020 exposure South Observatory. find should be able detect anisotropies near future. Distinguishing different source based on ray alone will more challenging than detecting departure isotropy is likely require larger statistics events. Combining angular distribution studies spectral shape around GZK feature also help distinguish scenarios.
