摘要: It has been observed that depigmentation in vitiligo passes through two stages; patches of light brown hypopigmentation which gradually changes into milky white patches. In this work, we studied cases hypopigmented regarding the melanocytes and keratinocytes' before after 7 months psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) therapy. Skin biopsies were taken from vitiliginous lesions PUVA therapy examined using haematoxylin eosin Masson Fontana stains, L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine reaction, immuno-histochemical stains ultrastructural examination. pretreated patients, present inactive degenerative detected both keratinocytes. After therapy, obvious histopathological improvement was detected. Clinically, initial response to increased indicating degenerated cells might have continued process degeneration did not recover. Meanwhile, perifollicular marginal pigmentation suggested occurred those areas activation already melanocytes.
