摘要: Changes in soil organic carbon (SOC) as a consequence of selective logging activities are often neglected tropical areas, even within that aim to promote the permanence forest C stocks (e.g. REDD+). In this context, we assessed magnitude impact on SOC levels three chronosequences Ghana, Cameroon and Gabon. each chronosequence, from unlogged was selectively logged at different times past, adjacent plots were investigated by sampling various depths 1 m. Both concentrations drastically decrease after all sites. The 0–5 cm depth represents layer with most evident decreases, particularly first second decades logging. loss is later stabilised, but remain lower than those 45–50 years chronosequences, strongly affected soils continue losing for many years. conclusion, measurements should be used provide precise emission-removal estimates also forests managed using sustainable management practices.
