摘要: AbstractCurrently, three of the seven described species Sirembo Bleeker, 1858 and both Spottobrotula Cohen & Nielsen, 1978 are considered valid. The present revision is based on 73 specimens known from Red Sea to Japan southwards off northwestern Australia northern New South Wales 19 Persian Gulf Mozambique Channel Andaman Sea. main characters separating two genera number long rakers anterior gill arch form sagittal otolith. Based this distinction amaculata 1982 transferred Sirembo. While newly caught can easily be identified by their colour pattern, preserved material requires identification meristic morphometric characters.
