摘要: Background Excess visceral obesity and ectopic organ fat is associated with increased risk of cardiometabolic disease. However, circulating markers for early detection fat, particularly pancreas liver, are lacking. Methods Lipid storage in pancreas, abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) (VAT) from 68 healthy or pre-diabetic Caucasian Chinese women enroled the TOFI_Asia study was assessed by magnetic resonance imaging/spectroscopy (MRI/S). Plasma metabolites were measured untargeted liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy (LC-MS). Multivariate partial least squares (PLS) regression identified predictive VAT/SAT fat; univariate linear adjusting potential covariates individual adjusted ethnicity clinical anthropometric correlates each depot. Results PLS 56, 64 31 which jointly predicted pancreatic (R2Y = 0.81, Q2 0.69), liver (RY2 0.8, 0.66) ((R2Y 0.7, 0.62)) respectively. Among PLS-identified metabolites, none them remained significantly after all covariates. Dihydrosphingomyelin (dhSM(d36:0)), 3 phosphatidylethanolamines, 5 diacylglycerols (DG) 40 triacylglycerols (TG) independent Three DGs 12 TGs Notably, comparison showed better predictivity these plasma metabolite markers. Conclusions Untargeted metabolomics candidate that improved level prediction over Several ratio age, total adiposity, whereas deposition only sulfolithocholic acid adiposity-related parameters, but not age.
