摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the relationship between pineal gland and cancer. The rhythm parameters can differ, but occurrence of seasonality may still be a result same biological factors. is affected by growth malignant tumors, particularly breast prostate, hormone melatonin also other yet unidentified substances are capable inhibiting number experimental tumors in vivo vitro. Human patients suffering from prostate cancer show tumor-stage-dependent depression circadian serum rhythms when compared to age-matched with benign tumors. To prove involvement olfactory or geomagnetic factors as zeitgebers for seasonal rhythms, experiments will have performed under complete shielding such influences that require highly sophisticated setups. Irrespective acting synchronization endogenous controlled laboratory conditions, fact remains cannot easily extinguished, neither humans nor animals.
