摘要: This article explores the time course of functional interplay between detection and encoding stages information processing in brain role they play conscious visual perception. We employed a multitarget rapid serial presentation RSVP approach examined electrophysiological P3 component elicited by target terminating an sequence. Target-locked activity was detected both at frontal parietal recording sites independent analysis confirmed presence two distinct components. The posterior P3b varied with intertarget lag, diminished amplitude postponed latency short relative to long lags-an electroencephalographic signature attentional blink AB. Under analogous conditions, anterior P3a also reduced but did not vary latency. Collectively, results provide record interaction components linked information. Our findings suggest that, although AB delays into working memory, it does slow down instead reduces efficacy this process. A characterization attentive tasks is discussed reference current models phenomenon.
