摘要: Plants evolve the production of wound-activated compounds (WACs) to reduce grazing pressure. In addition, several plant-produced WACs are recognized by various invertebrates, playing role infochemicals. Due co-evolutionary processes, some invertebrates recognize plant infochemicals and use them identify possible prey, detect presence predators or algae containing classes toxic metabolites. Different metabolites present in same can play toxins, both simultaneously. We investigated infochemical activity extracted from three diatoms epiphytes seagrass Posidonia oceanica, conducting choice experiments on living community close proximity. Furthermore, specific toxicity extracts obtained was tested sea urchin embryos using a standard bioassay procedure, toxins. The comparison two effects demonstrated that subjected diatom toxicants when these not associated with their own habitat, but they able volatile derived habitats. shown be inversely correlated perceptive ability towards liberated algae. Hence, recognition given invertebrate species evolves, detrimental receiving organism may lost.
