摘要: Abstract Perennial herbaceous grasses have not been adequately evaluated to determine their productivity and persistence under management systems suitable for biomass production. Tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea), reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea) orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata) were established a two-harvest system, with factorial combination of three N rates (0, 168 336 kg ha−1), five first-harvest dates at two-week intervals. Reed persisted well was very productive the regardless time first harvest. averaged 10·6 Mg ha−1 dry matter yield over two years no fertilization. stands reduced by 30% high fertilization, but affected delaying date. Orchardgrass eliminated system. All neutral detergent fiber concentrations above 550 g kg−1 permanganate lignin generally 40 kg−1.
