摘要: OF THESIS BREEDING FOR NITROGEN USE EFFICIENCY IN SOFT RED WINTER WHEAT Nitrogen use efficient (NUE) wheat varieties have potential to reduce input costs for growers, limit N runoff into water ways, and increase adaptability warmer environments. Previous studies done little explain the genetic basis NUE components, nitrogen uptake efficiency (NUpE) utilization (NUtE). Four were conducted 1) determine genotypic stability of under high low regimes warming 2) effect on 3) indentify QTL associated with components 4) assess utility canopy spectral reflectance (CSR) as a high-throughput phenotyping device NUE. Genotypic response stress or varied. Uptake was found be more important than performance environments warming. Selection NUpE NUtE most efficiently identified varieties. lower due quickened development. No strong correlations between CSR indices existed. significantly components. Further research mechanisms controlling reveal plant is necessary.
