摘要: During the period 21–22 January 2004, an explosive cyclogenesis event occurred over Aegean Sea. The minimum observed pressure was 972 hPa, a value which is among three lowest entire Mediterranean Sea during last 40 years. This paper devoted to investigation of conditions that contributed rapid development this low-pressure system through analysis both observations and model results. It found cyclone associated with two-trough that, under influence very intense upper-level jet, merged into single trough then acquired negative tilt. Sensitivity tests MM5 showed dynamic forcing main factor led cyclogenesis, while surface sensible latent heat fluxes deepening mainly storm's mature phase.
