摘要: Tiodazosin, a new antihypertensive, resembles prazosin in structure and α-adrenergic-blocking activity, it also exerts direct vasodilator effect. We evaluated its long-term hemodynamic systemic effects patients with essential hypertension. Our data show that after 10 wk of therapy tiodazosin, 7 our had significant reduction intra-arterial mean blood pressure as result fall vascular resistance. Heart rate, cardiac output, plasma volume did not change. Systemic were minor included gain weight hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelet count, serum protein, albumin, bilirubin, specific gravity urine. No patient initially developed orthostatic symptoms the first dose, but there transient episodes light-headedness three patients, palpitations two, increased urinary frequency one, drooping eyelid another during trial period. One profound hypotension, which could be attributed to drug. Because such side failure lower 30% hypertension, tiodazosin appears have several important drawbacks little advantage over currently available antihypertensives.
