摘要: Abstract During repeated rolling of a point contact, changes in contact geometry are caused by plastic flow the lateral direction. It is proposed, and supported experiment, that area from elliptical to near-rectangular. In consequence pressure distribution ellipsoidal (Hertzian) being nearly uniform direction [a investigated Kunert, Forschung auf dem Gebiete des Ingenieurwesens, Vol. 27, p. 165 (1962)]. Using Melan's theorem, shakedown limits have been found which enable steady-state contacting surfaces be predicted for an elastic-perfectly material. Experiments performed authors other researchers were good agreement with predictions.
