摘要: A rectangular settling tank in full scale is investigated using the Fluent software to increase its efficiency. First, pure water simulated absence of particles. Then particles are injected into flow field and tracked by means discrete phase model. Three methods presented optimize tank: (1) adding a baffle which mounted bottom extended up near free surface, (2) surface (3) install bi-directional bottom. These three suggestions checked short-circuiting phenomenon successful theory. The theory states that particle can be accounted as “trapped” if settled stays static stable doesn’t return purified sewage. Although second method provided higher efficiency, third was selected most appropriate order tank.
