摘要: A prospective study was initiated in 1976 to investigate runners who are at risk for incurring stress fractures and how these can be prevented. Fifty-one incurred 57 fractures. Tibial were most common (25), followed by fibula (12) metatarsal (8). Seven had previously sustained fractures, six developed two simultaneously. Five women over 30 years old pelvic Stress fracture development positively correlated with the presence of pes planus, weekly training distances greater than 20 miles, hard surfaces, regimen modifications. The incidence did not correlate generalized musculoskeletal laxity or tightness. Forty-four 51 patients initially positive roentgenograms. five bone scans positive. average duration rest before running resumed 7.4 weeks.
