摘要: An axisymmetric finite element model with nonaxisymmetric loading of an acetabular arthroplasty and the surrounding pelvic bone is presented. Model variations include ultra high density polyethylene components varying wall thicknesses metal backed components. Each two component types modeled as implanted within acetabulum intact subchondral without bone. Thin prostheses are predicted to increase, relative thick components, maximum stresses in cement-bone composite. Trabecular increase removal Stiffer metal-backed reduce cement abridge effects altered thickness removal.
