摘要: Previous classifications of split cord malformations (SCMr’s), including such terms as diastematomyelia and diplomyelia, have done little to foster a true understanding these disorders. The authors instead propose unifying classification in which all SCMr’s share common embryogenesis. are divided into two types, based upon the composition dural coverings intervening mesenchymal tissue. Type I composed sacs bony or fibrocartilaginous spur; II single sac intradural fibrous bands. In either case, elements contribute progressive neurologic, urologic, orthopedic deterioration from spinal tethering. natural history lesions supports an early aggressive operative approach untether before clinical begins.
