摘要: We use a model for the evolution of galaxies in far-infrared (far-IR) based on Λ-cold dark matter cosmology to make detailed predictions upcoming cosmological surveys with Herschel Space Observatory. combined GALFORM semi-analytical galaxy formation and GRASIL spectrophotometric code compute spectral energy distribution (SEDs) including reprocessing radiation by dust. The model, which is same as that Baugh et al., assumes two different initial mass functions (IMFs): normal solar neighbourhood IMF quiescent star discs, very top-heavy starbursts triggered mergers. have shown previously appears necessary explain number counts redshifts faint submillimetre galaxies. In this paper, we present luminosity functions, redshift distributions imaging bands. find source confusion will be serious problem deepest planned surveys. also show physical properties such rates stellar, gas halo masses, together fluxes at other wavelengths (from far-ultraviolet radio) relevant multi-wavelength follow-up observations. investigate what fraction total IR emission from dust high-mass over history Universe should resolved Herschel, ~30–50 per cent, depending confusion. Finally, significantly clustered.
