摘要: Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) patients make critical daily self-care decisions on the basis of what they estimate their blood glucose (BG) levels to be. This study: a) replicated efficacy Standard Blood Glucose Awareness Training (BGAT), b) evaluated relative an Intensive (BGAT) enhance patient accuracy BG estimation, and c) mechanisms ancillary effects BGAT. Thirty-nine subjects were randomly assigned one three groups. Compared with Control, both BGAT improved (p less than 0.001). post-treatment did not reach statistical significance = 0.177). Greater improvement in was associated poorer pretreatment accuracy. Only metabolic control (glycosylated hemoglobin), this control. The highly specific, affecting only control, fear hypoglycemia, knowledge, frequency monitoring.
