Phase Equilibria in the Lu ― V ― B System and the Structure of the New Boride Lu1.34V1.66B6

摘要: X-ray diffraction data have been used to construct the 1070 K isothermal section of Lu ― V B phase diagram. The solubility VB2 in LuB2 attains 5 at.% (lattice parameters (Lu, V)B2 limiting composition with AlB2 structure are a = 0.3238(1), c 0.3689(1) nm). A new ternary boride has discovered, Lu1.34V1.66B6, which belongs Y2ReB6 type (space group Pbam, 0.8947(8), b 1.1273(7), 0.3381(2) nm, Fhkl > 4σ(F), 2thetav;max 72.76°, Nhkl 379, RF 0.0617, Rw 0.0653) and is characterized by statistical distribution atoms one positions.
