摘要: Introduction: Leiomyomas are the most common benign tumors of uterus. Retroperitoneal uterine leiomyomas with cystic degeneration very rare. They can pose diagnostic dilemma and mimmick ovarian cysts. Case report: We report case a 34 yrs old para 5 who presented to our hospital complaints distention whole abdomen, heaviness lower abdomen & decreased appetite. On examination huge abdomino-pelvic mass was felt. Clinically provisional diagnosis ? Ovarian cyst made.CT scan showed retroperitoneal mass. Laprotomy proceed planned. Intraoperatively attached uterus just below left fundal structures by pedicle extending upto xiphisternum found.Uterus normal size both ovaries tubes were distinctly separate from .left ovary slightly enalarged unhealthy in appearance. Cyst excision followed total abdominal hysterectomy sided salpingooopherectomy done. Histopathological revealed degenerated leiomyoma immunohistochemistry positive for smooth muscle actin.To best knowledge this is largest literature. Conclusion: difficulty preoperatively even peroperatively. As mimicking cyst. Though CT guiding towards lesion but its nature created dilemma.
