PHASES OF SECOND STAGE LABOR: Four Descriptive Case Studies

摘要: In recent years, the second stage of labor has become an area interest to a number observers who have described divisions or phases with behavioral characteristics. Using descriptive case study design, four normal nulliparous women in spontaneous were videotaped from occurrence involuntary bearing-down efforts recognition complete cervical dilation until birth. Analysis these videotapes, accompanying narrative transcripts, and uterine monitor tracings provided evidence that some behaviors changed over progression stage. These changes could be divided into three nurse/midwife can identify order recognize typical pattern possible deviations normal.
