摘要: The internal organization and functioning of living cells, as well their cooperation in tissues higher order structures, can be a rich source inspiration for computer science, not fully exploited at the present date. Membrane computing is an answer to this challenge, developed theoretical (mathematical computability theory) level, already having several applications (via usual computers), but without yet bio-lab implementation. After briefly discussing some general issues related natural computing, paper provides informal introduction membrane focused on main ideas, classes results applications. Then, three recent achievements, different types, are presented, with emphasis usefulness framework devising models interest biological medical research.
