Suicide and aggression in schizophrenia. Neurobiologic correlates.

摘要: In this study of schizophrenic patients, we were unable to find an association between past history suicide attempt and levels CSF amine metabolites, response DST, ventricular size by CT scan, neurobiologic variables each which have been reported be associated with attempted in some patient groups. Our data, however, demonstrate the marked responsiveness measures aggressive behavior neuroleptic treatment, suggesting a dopaminergic involvement these behaviors when observed presence overt psychotic symptoms. Some support for decreased CNS serotonin function was found drug-free schizophrenics, although difficulty separating illness from trait factors is important confounding variable.
