Direct reaction theories for exotic nuclei: An introduction via semi-classical methods

摘要: Abstract The structure of exotic nuclei has only been studied from around 1985, because they are very short lived and before that, it was not possible to produce deliver them as beams on a target. They have large N ∕ Z or ratios, weakly bound quite extended most the time. Thus breakup, transfer and/or inelastic excitations surface some their common reaction mechanisms. Direct reactions, for simplicity, played fundamental role in last thirty years process understanding such “new” type structures. On other hand, direct reactions understood much longer time, starting with pioneering experiments early ’50 deuteron-induced models developed by S.T. Butler collaborators. Both subjects extremely vast there is literature available books, review articles original papers. I will discuss here few selected examples many interesting problems that encountered solved all those years. consider breakthroughs field hope can inspire young generations researchers.
