Vacuum curettage by the Vabrar method. A simple procedure for endometrial diagnosis.

摘要: Of 332 patients for whom endometrial biopsy was indicated vacuum curettage by the Vabra method performed on 296 (89%) women as an outpatient procedure without anesthesia. The age range 23-71 years with a mean of 45.7. Material sufficient histological diagnosis obtained in 276 (93.3%) 7 (2.4%) had cancer 14 (4.7%) who adenomatous hyperplasia and 29 (9.8%) cystic hyperplasia. 20 curettings could not be assessed subsequent conventional showed postmenopausal mucosa 12 cases polyps 4 atrophic due to oral contraceptive pill 4. 47 (15.8%) (2.3%) experienced moderate severe pain respectively 2 (0.6%) vasovagal reaction. There 1 case (0.3%) endometritis 6 (2%) postoperative bleeding. During follow-up period 1-5.5 (mean 2.4) 16 have developed bleeding again but repeated disclosed benign conditions all no apart from diagnosed primarily. Vacuum is quick simple cheap tissue. It does require anesthesia patient acceptability high reliability satisfactory. (authors modified)
