摘要: The idea of neighbourhood effects implies that the demographic context poor neighbourhoods instills 'dysfunctional' norms, values and behaviours into youths, triggering a cycle social pathology. It is argued are part wider discourse inner-city marginality stereotypes neighbourhoods. Reflecting upon arguments made in existing literature, ideological underpinnings revealed. Essentialist conceptions culture among employers, educators institutional staff contribute to phenomenon. also suggested researchers policy-makers must recognise forces cultural differentiation exclusion.
