摘要: Publisher Summary The multiplicity of peptide hydrolases, their ubiquitous distribution in all brain areas and cellular fractions, the broad specificity patterns, suggest many different roles exopeptidases nervous system. This chapter describes classification exopeptidases. It discusses α-aminopeptide amino acid dipeptide arylamide α-carboxypeptide central system (CNS), peripheral nerve. Exopeptidases are classified on basis those that require substrates with free groups (aminopeptidases) or carboxyl (carboxypeptidases) specific for both terminal (dipeptidase hydrolases). Although no exopeptidase enzyme defects as such have been detected, a number clinical disorders associated increased turnover excretion acids peptides. localization together endopeptidases at identical sites suggests these enzymes operate sequence final degradation proteins to peptides acids.
