摘要: The question of what role sex plays in evolution is still open despite decades research. It has often been assumed that should facilitate the increase fitness. Hence, fact it may break down highly favorable genetic combinations seen as a problem. Here, we consider an alternative approach. We define measure represents ability alleles to perform well across different and, using numerical iterations within classical population-genetic framework, show selection presence favors this robust manner. also mechanism responsible for effect out purview previous theory, because operates during evolutionary transient, and breaking integral part it. Implications these results more theory are discussed.
