摘要: An improved surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor is provided based on direct measurement of the Goos-Hanchen effect. Sensor sensitivity enhanced by selecting thickness metallic layer SPR to be close a critical d cr where effect shift most pronounced. Overall surprisingly found improve with this approach, even though second order (i.e., shift) instead first reflectance change measured in conventional approaches. The invention also applicable sensors measurements other non-specular reflection parameters, such as temporal shifts, frequency and/or angular shifts.
