摘要: Abstract Small and uniform pores characterize zeolite catalysts. If most catalytic sites are inside this pore structure if the small, fate of reactant molecules probability forming product determined mostly by molecular dimension configuration. Reactant selectivity occurs when only one type molecule can pass through catalyst pores. Product when, among all formed within pores, those with proper dimensions diffuse out appear as observed products. In restricted transition-state selectivity, certain reactions prevented because corresponding transition state requires more space than available. Applications shape-selective catalysis are: (1) undesirable impurities be continuously converted to easily removable smaller compounds or harmless substances; (2) a desired increased; (3) coke formation reduced.
