摘要: Abstract The polycythemic mouse, produced by the method of discontinuous hypoxia, has been shown to be a highly sensitise test animal for assay erythropoietin. Exposure such. mice 0.4 atmosphere is more efficient production suitable plethoric animals than 0.5 atmosphere; lower baselines red blood cell Fe 59 incorporation are attained rapidly after interruption pressure. With this method, Erythropoictin Standard B (ESA) was evaluated as primary reference standard expression unknown potencies use 4 point parallel-line procedure. Periodic calibration purified sheep-crythropoietin laboratory with ESA showed good reproducibility in slope, and precision characteristics, potency ratios close 1. Incubation sheep erythropoietin dog plasma up 5 hours did not affect estimate, indicating stability factor medium at least that length time. dose/response relation number human crythropoietin preparations also studied. Several crude urine samples from patients Cooley's anemia were found be, amenable analysis standard.
