摘要: We describe the 'islands of inversion' that occur when approaching neutron drip line around magic numbers N=20, N=28 and N=40 in framework interacting shell model very large valence spaces. explain these configuration inversions (and associated shape transitions) as result competition between spherical mean field (monopole) favors magicity correlations (multipole) favor deformed intruder states. also show N=20 islands are reality a single one, which for magnesium isotopes is limited by N=18 N=32.
