摘要: Structured observational research involves monitoring of healthcare domains by experts to collect data on errors, adverse events, near misses, team performance, and organisational culture. This paper describes some the results structured studies carried out in health care. It evaluates strengths, weaknesses, future challenges facing researchers drawing lessons from human factors neonatal arterial switch operation (ASO) study which two specialists observed paediatric cardiac surgical procedures 16 UK centres. Lessons learned ASO are germane other teams embarking that involve collection. Future needs robust observer training, clear measurable criteria assess each researcher's domain knowledge, competence. Measures inter-rater reliability needed where or more observers participate While it is important understand lead error excellence among teams, also necessary characteristics a good key types can occur during like project.
