High prevalence of hepatitis C infection among Brazilian hemodialysis patients in Rio de Janeiro: a one-year follow-up study

摘要: Aproximadamente 400 pacientes de hemodialise tratados em 5 diferentes unidades no Rio Janeiro foram acompanhados durante 1 ano para presenca marcadores virais hepatite B e C. Durante o mesmo periodo, amostras tambem 35 ambulatoriais dialise peritonial continua (CAPD) 242 funcionarios das unidades. Dependendo da unidade estudo detectadas prevalencias anti-HCV variando 47% a 82% (media 65%). Pacientes CAPD demonstraram uma baixa prevalencia 17%. A foi 2.9%. Observamos taxa ataque C 11.5% por na populacao paciente anti-HCV-negativo. Uma media 9.4% eram portadores cronicos do virus (VHB) (taxa 1.8% 20.4%), enquanto 48.9% apresentaram infeccao passada HBV. HBV 4.5% 0% 6%). Esses resultados indicam alarmante alta dessa regiao estudada.
