摘要: Pulse oximetry has emerged as a clinical tool in anesthesia and newborn monitoring within the last 7 years result of recent technological theoretical advances. Oximeters measure different absorption spectra oxygenated deoxygenated hemoglobin. Electronic measures oxygenation at peak pulse allow computation display oxygen saturation arterial blood almost instantly. Correlation coefficients between direct measurement range from 0.77-0.99 when is greater than 60%. The method noninvasive (a clip or tape on finger), simple to operate, adaptable various patient populations. monitors continuously instantaneously, responsive change, accurate. Factors adversely affecting accuracy oximeter output include transducer movement, peripheral vasoconstriction, nonpulsating vascular bed, hypotension, anemia, changes systemic resistance, hypothermia, presence intravascular dyes, nail polish. been used monitor intraoperatively adult neonatal intensive care units pregnant patients their infants delivery. Once advantages limitations are recognized, this technique can play an important role with cardiovascular respiratory compromise.
