摘要: Esmoriz-Paramos lagoon is an ecosystem of great ecological importance that located on the northwest coast Portugal and has been degraded as a result industrial anthropogenic activities. Concentrations heavy metals (Cr, Cu, Pb Zn) were measured in water, sediment tissues (liver muscle) Liza saliens, which dominant fish from lagoon. Comparisons between metal concentrations water sediments made with those caught at Metals quantified predominantly bound to particulate equalled or exceeded limit chronic reference values. Metal varied among sampled sites. The relative order was "Zn > Cu approximately Cr" same pattern observed for water. showed higher liver (262 mg CuxKg(-1) 89 ZnxKg(-1)) than muscle (<3 26 ZnxKg(-1)), while Cr not detected. These results suggest Zn are major concern Mullet detritivorous feeding habits, bioaccumulation high can be most important source contamination this ecosystem. positive relationship found length demonstrates time exposure crucial factor bioaccumulation. Condition indices (K HSI) mullets compared sea, suggesting abnormal condition population. We conclude impose considerable stress. also show area environmental concern.
