摘要: The source process during the 7 September 1999 Athens (Greece) earth- quake is investigated using broadband seismograms recorded at regional distances. Source time functions are estimated through an empirical Green's function approach, and their shapes inverted to reveal spatial temporal distribution of fault slip. resulting slip-distribution pattern implies that about 50% total slip occurred a depth greater than hypocentral depth, indicating downward rupture propagation whereas 25% was concentrated shallower patch. Forward calculations displacement field surface show patch possibly responsible for asymmetry observed in it may have contributed significantly damage.
