摘要: Although exceptional heterosis for yield in the world’s first commercial single cross maize (Zea mays L.) hybrid SR52 has been confirmed, role of secondary traits hasn’t established. Objectives this study were to establish relationship between grain and traits, while assessing heritability genotypic variation SR52’s segregating populations. Knowledge on associations would be crucial extracting productive inbred lines from population. Traits subjected correlation path-coefficient analyses. Path analysis model accounted over 70% (R2) all Consistently high positive correlations with observed ear length number kernel rows ear. Ear girth (0.19), kernels per row (0.48) showed direct effects F2 population trend was consistent backcrosses. Positive indirect most negligible exception via total ear, which above 0.40 BCP1. can exploited selection generations. 100-kernel weight can, a lesser extent, targeted selecting yield. High medium phenotypic variability generations such as length, should give impetus because presence diversity gene pool.
